Show and Tell Sunday- Trash to Treasure and a swap peek

Happy Sunday to you all! I hope YOU are having a beautiful Sunday, and the sun is shining for you, cuz it sure as heck ain't shining here! It has been grey and gloomy and cool, with forcasters saying it may be like that til the end of JULY!!!!! Oh well...there's always artificial sunlight...

I just have two things to show you today. Here are my trash to treasure offerings:

Mosaic are the ultimate treash to treasure for me. I love that I can take something broken and make beautiful art out of it! The address plaque hangs by my door and was made out of teacups and saucers that were my mothers. She collected them all throughout my childhood and then, one day, an earthquake hit, and well...I'm sure you can imagine (That's California for ya!). So, she lovingly swept up all the peices, put them in a box and kept them for me for 2 years. At the bottom, it says "Enter with a happy heart". I also made one for my mom.

The mirror is just one I made out of a $1.99 IKEA Mirror and a sweet plate with pink and white roses, a saucer with a green and gold pattern around the rim, and a cream colored plate with lots of crazing. Let me tell you, it is really satisfying to break plates...

Oh, before I go, here's a little tiny sneak peek at one of my Treasures of the Sea Swap pendants:

I love swappin'!!!
Have a great day, ladies!

I love that frame and I have some of those IKEA frames! I bought them a while back to collage, but I think one of them will have to be saved to try this project on. It's wonderful!

I love the mosaics, they are great. Real trash to treasure!!! I love swapping too, and am sorry that I missed this one. Since I participated in a mermaid swap a month or so ago, I see mermaid stuff everywhere, and I am in the mountains.
I couldn't post today's topic, cause my whole house is trash to treasure, and I never took before and after shots of all the junk I have messed with. Have a great day, sorry for the gloominess at your place, hot as all get out here.

Beautiful mosaics! I tried my hand at a mosaic table top, and it ended up uneven and cracked! It's not as easy as it looks. Yours are beautiful!
